Wrapping a box with an attached lid doesn’t have to be difficult. Check out our hints, and don’t be afraid to use a lot of tape!

Right-size your paper.

It should be long enough to wrap around the entire box and the overlapping flap, plus about a half-inch on each end for folding over. Make sure the paper is wide enough to coompletely cover the sides of the box.

If you open the box 90 degrees, you’ll get the right coverage for the box to open and close.

I start the front corners before I work on the lid, to give it more stability.

Reinforce the corners as soon as you cut the paper.

If the lid is shallow, you can cut the paper at an angle to give you more to work with.
